Neighborhoods United addresses the issue of urban blight that is prevalent in many cities throughout the country. Blight breeds crime and crime breeds poverty. By eliminating blight, neighborhoods have a chance to redevelop themselves and to grow.
Here we rehabilitate abandoned properties and create viable housing for the community. This supplies affordable housing for many different groups; Low-income/Section 8, individuals with disabilities, homeless veterans and other individuals in need of affordable housing. This process decreases the problems with abandoned properties that attract bad elements and generally add to the issues of community blight. As we convert abandoned properties to viable housing, the area improved and stabilized which in turn elevates the appearance of the neighborhood.
